Nov 11 Youth only - A.D. 100-300 - Early Christian Communities – Persecutions begin, Christians literally go underground to
survive, hear martyrs’ stories; the Gospels are written, the canon of Scripture is formed.

“B.C. and A.D.” calendar was formed marking Christ’s Birth for all time, Gregorian Chants and the Liturgical Calendar formed,
The official split of the Eastern and Western Churches, 7 Sacraments declared officially.

Mar 9 Youth only – A.D. 1054-1500 - The Renaissance and Revival of the Church through the Monasteries –
& Safety Session - St Francis and St Clare, The Crusades, Saint Assignment due.
Mar 16 All - “Living Stations” – 6:30-7:30 p.m. (Worship Space) 7-8th Graders display their Saint project.
Mar 23 - Holy Week – NO SESSION – Check the bulletin for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Masses – Attend all 3
days before Confirmation. Please bring signed cards to class next week.
Mar 30 Youth only – A.D. 1500-1600 – The Challenge and Response - Reformation – Martin Luther, The Split of
the Church into different denominations. The Council of Trent in response to the need of reform. Turn in Service Project
sheet.
Apr 13 Youth only – A.D. 1600-1870 – Sacred or Secular? – Final Session – Games outside if weather permits –
The Enlightenment Period Creates New Challenges: The Changing Role of the Church, Galileo and the New Age of Science, the
Martyrs of Compiegne, Jesuits.
