Notes:
Smith King signed the will of Alice Middleton in1772, sister of Thomas Middleton who
married Leazure Brown.
Smith King married Jane Middleton Self b. 1766 with Thomas Walker Sec.
Jane Middleton Self’s parents were Henry Self and Alice Middleton Self.(Alice
Middleton Self was the daughter of Jeremiah and Sarah Ellin Middleton) Is of interest
that on Caleb Oldham’s will 1781-82 that John Wroe of Richmond Co. was the Exec.
with witnesses Henry and Alcy (Alice) Self.
Caleb left land to brother Nathaniel and he sold it and moved to Westmoreland County.
Is this the same Nathaniel Oldham that married Martha Middleton dau. Of Capt.
Benedict?
Smith King married 2) Anne Lamkin 1801 her parents were Matthew Lamkin and
Francis Fallin. Matthew first married unknown Middleton dau. Of Capt. Benedict and
had son Benedict Lamkin grandson of Capt. Benedict.
.Benedict Lamkin grandson of Capt. Benedict married Molly King and 2nd Elizabeth
English.
Samuel Wroe who was a witness to this document married Molly King , her father was
William King married 6-28-1801 (guess this was a different Molly than the one
mentioned above?)
John King married Alice Wroe 12-25-1795 dau of John Wroe
Smith King had a son George king that marr. Ann English 1824 Westmoreland County
I believe after 1810 that Smith King was found in Ross, Butler Ohio
Elizabeth “Betty” Lamkin married John Wroe bef. 1767 I wonder where they got the info
knowing that it happened bef. 1767? Her father was Peter Lamkin d. 1762 WC married
to Ann Rust dau of Matthew Rust and Winifred Cox Rust. After Winifred died Matthew
Married Frances Garland Middleton. Elizabeth “Betty” Lamkin was also the sister of
Matthew who married the Middleton dau of Capt. Benedict. I feel that there is a
possibility that the John Wroe that Elizabeth “Betty” Lamkin married bef. 1767 may have
been our Hannah Wroe’s father. He was married to Hannah Middleton Dollins Wroe bef.
1764 but wonder if she may have died and he remarried. He was still in Richmond
County until he died in 1794 but I feel after his death for some reason his children have
relocated to Westmoreland Co. in the area where the Middleton clan is most noticed.
Capt. Benedict’s dau. Jane Wroe must have married into this same Wroe family
somehow!
