at all times.
3. Respect your parents, your coaches, your teammates, and your opponents.
4. Communicate questions or concerns to your coach as soon as possible. Follow the
chain of communication when addressing any issue: 1) player to coach, 2) parent and
player to coach, 3) parent and player to athletic director and coach.

Players are expected to attend all practices. Communicate in advance if you have to
miss for any reason.

fundamentals, particularly shooting and ball handling. Playing more than one sport is
encouraged.

Tips for basketball parents
Remember that basketball is a very difficult game. There will be good days and
bad days. Love and support your daughter regardless of how she plays. We will not base
our self-esteem on our performance in games or practice! Think about the messages you
are sending your daughter with your words and your body language.
Basketball is a team sport! Keep in mind the best interests of your daughter, but
understand that the coaches have the interests of the entire program in mind. Challenge
your daughter to be the best she can be; one of athletes’ biggest regrets is that they don’t
work hard enough and then are disappointed with the results. Remember why your
daughter plays basketball: to learn, to have fun, to compete, and to create memories.
When your daughter is the most down is when she most needs a role model to be
positive!
