Name: The name of the Organization established by this Charter shall be the Fairfield Glade
(FG) Neighborhood Watch “Care” Ring Coalition (Coalition). r
Purpose: The FG Coalition is being established to: represent the collective and recognized FG
Neighborhood Watch Groups; to coordinate activities, to be a conduit between the membership, local government, and similar agencies; and to share information, provide education, and to provide or coordinate appropriate assistance to members.
Mission: The Coalition shall seek to represent the efforts of all FG recognized Neighborhood
Watch Groups to support a safe, alert and self-reliant community.
Vision: The Coalition shall seek to promote excellence in the pursuit of good neighborly conduct and responsible citizenship.
Goals:
To improve member awareness and to promote a safe, alert and self-reliant community.
To be a conduit for information regarding a safe community environment, preparedness, partnering, prevention, personal safety.
To facilitate communication with and among FG Neighborhood Watch Groups and to encourage active participation in the Neighborhood Watch Program.
To establish working relationships with the FG Governing Board, other FG organizations, local governmental, and community agencies.
To provide formal recognition of FG Neighborhood Watch Groups and the boundaries of each Group within the FG community.
To promote and encourage the formation of Neighborhood Watch “Care Ring” groups, community “Care” cells, and assist members to access Fairfield Glade Resident Services
(FGRS) programs
Membership: Any person living within FG and participating in a recognized FG Neighborhood
Watch Group is a member of the Coalition. The Coordinator or his/her designee of each recognized FG Neighborhood Watch Group shall be a voting member of the Coalition, representing his/her Neighborhood Watch Group, and shall be eligible to vote on matters properly brought before the Coalition for consideration.
Governing Body: The Coalition shall be governed by a five member Board of Directors elected to two year staggering terms by the voting membership at a meeting conducted annually for that purpose. Initially the Vice Chairperson and Membership officer will be elected to a one year term while the Chairperson, Secretary, and Projects Officer will be elected to a two year term.
Thereafter annual elections shall be for two year terms. The Chairperson shall have the authority to appoint individuals to Committees as deemed necessary to carry out the purposes of this
Charter.
Charter Amendments: This Charter may only be amended by a vote of 2/3rds (66%) of the voting membership as part of a Special Meeting called for that purpose by the Board of Directors as set forth in the Coalition By-laws.
By Laws: The initial By-laws of the FG Neighborhood Watch Coalition shall be written by the initial Board of Directors and presented to the voting membership for approval.
