FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NanaWall Featured in Award-winning Green Hotel Suite
MILL VALLEY, CALIF. (May 2010) –
NanaWall Systems, Inc. announces the
NanaWall® SL60 is featured in the winning
design of the first-ever Sustainable Suite
Design Competition, a competition for interior
designers to showcase the best hospitality design strategies that boast environmental
responsibility while enhancing guest experience.
The winning suite was designed by WATG Architects and IDEO and will be on display
at the Hospitality Design Expo May 19-21 in Las Vegas. The competition was sponsored
by the U.S. Green Building Council, American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), and
the Network of the Hospitality Industry (NEWH). Out of 65 design entries, WATG and
IDEO took the top award for their suite, called Haptik (a Greek term referring to
interactions based on the sense of touch).
The NanaWall is used in thousands of hospitality venues around the world in restaurants,
conference areas, hotel suites, lobbies and more, from the Hotel Indigo in San Diego to
Hotel Nikko in Guam to Whitetail Shore Lodge in McCall, Idaho.
The NanaWall SL60 folding glass wall system was used in the Haptik Sustainable Suite
to connect the suite to an outdoor lounge and served to expand the space, provide fresh
air and breezes and offer an unobstructed view. Some of the sustainable benefits of the
NanaWall SL60 include:
 Providing daylighting, which lowered energy use from artificial lighting
 Improving indoor air quality
 Allowing visual and physical connections to the outside
 Offering plentiful natural ventilation for restful sleep
 Allowing for flexible use of space, which meant one-third less conditioned space
for the suite (and lower energy costs)
“NanaWall Systems is honored to be selected to provide the custom opening glass wall
system for the winning sustainable hospitality suite by WATG and IDEO,” said Ebrahim
Nana, president of NanaWall Systems. “We are committed to helping innovative
architects, builders and developers create buildings that feel spacious, connect to the
outdoors and reduce heating and cooling costs.”
At the Hospitality Design Expo May 19-21 in Las Vegas, visitors can tour the winning
USGBC Sustainable Design Suite, see the NanaWall Energy Star-certified operable glass
wall system and meet the Haptik designers. See more NanaWall projects at the NanaWall
Systems booth # 2563.
