Sales Director, Bibby Scientific Ltd Stone, Stafford Reporting to the CEO, as Sales Director, you will be responsible for creating sales strategy and delivering results for a £26M Company across all product ranges and all geographies excluding the Americas. You will play a fundamental role in developing future growth, and provide vision, direction and leadership. Your specific duties will include: Developing strategy, tactics, sales plans and profit targets. Delivering sales by developing relationships and managing distribution partners as well as identifying where possible direct routes to the end user. Identifying and reporting on business opportunities including acquisitions globally. Increasing market share in existing markets and maximise new business development opportunities. Achieving targets for revenue, profitability and sales growth. Provide managerial leadership and development to your global sales team. Acting as an ambassador and role model for the business Hours and Environment Nominally, you'll work 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, however, your duties are likely to involve significant out of hours activity and travel. You'll be office-based, but also spend much of your time visiting customers, distribution partners, other branches of your organisation and your sales team in the field. You will be required to attend conferences, trade fairs and exhibitions. Your job will involve travel in both the UK and abroad. Skills The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:-: A passion for achieving results, through unbridled drive, initiative and enthusiasm Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with extensive experience in distributor and sales channel management Astute business acumen The ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team Excellent communication and 'people skills' Good planning and organisational skills The ability to thrive in a high pressure environment Good IT, budget and report writing skills A full driving licence Ideally be able to speak at least one European language, preferably two. Entry You'll need proven sales management experience, together with an extensive track record of achieving targets in the scientific equipment arena or closely related market. You will have a degree in a scientific discipline and a broad knowledge of scientific applications from chemistry to life science. An MBA would be a distinct advantage.
