The MD/DC/VA MAA Section NExT fellowship for the Class of 2009 will span two academic years,
starting in the Fall of 2007 and ending with graduation in the Spring of 2009. Fellows will receive
some support to attend the fall and spring MD/DC/VA MAA Section meetings for each of the two
years. The Fall 2007 Section meeting will be held at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold,
MD on November 9 - 10, 2007. For more information on the MD/DC/VA MAA Section meeting
dates and locations, please see the section website.
Faculty at two and four-year colleges are particularly encouraged to apply.
The application package should include:
 This Application Form
 A short statement (several paragraphs is sufficient) outlining your teaching activities
and what you hope to get out of the program
 A letter from your department chair or dean indicating the level of support – financial
(especially for travel/hotel expenses) and otherwise – that your department is
prepared to provide
 A one-page curriculum vitae
The deadline for applications is September 28, 2007. However, there is some room
for flexibility so please contact Leigh Lunsford if you will not be able to meet the
deadline.
