1. What are the aims, objectives and purpose of the Function, including desired
outcomes:
 To make £35,000 saving by using exsisting Council building rather than being
charged to use an external venue.
 Make best use of otherwise empty Council property
 To provide a venue near to the Hackney main offices - to mitigate time of staff
attending training as courses are now mainly half day rather than 1 day

Overall
The venue is not suitable for physically disabled staff who need to use a lift to reach the
first floor training room as the building does not have a lift facility. However alternative
venues will be used if a disabled person is a participant on a course and this is an
inherent part of the booking process so that venues are booked as a consequence of
learners needs and this will continue. All course booking information informs staff about
the venue access restrictions and asks individuals to make the training administration
aware so an alternative venue can be booked.
