Most risks can be reduced by good housekeeping and it is everyones responsibility to do this. The term 'hazard' means activity or equipment that has the potential to cause harm. The term 'risk' refers to the probability (or likelihood) of that harm happening and the severity of the consequences. The extent of the risk should also take into account the number of people exposed to the harm. This risk assessment gives only the Residual risks. The Residual Risk is the remaining level once the proposed control measure are applied.
