Division 5 RABBITS Superintendent – Mary Plumer – (309) 565-7932 Rabbit Show will begin at 1 pm or right after the Swine Show on Friday Please have all Rabbits in place and checked in by noon. Classes will be split according to whether a rabbit is a six class or four class rabbit as determined by the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA). A list of rabbit breeds and appropriate class follows on the next page. Crossbreeds will only be allowed to show in MARKET CLASSES. Breeding Classes Six Class Rabbits (Meat Breeds) 501 Senior Bucks- 8 months of age and older 502 Senior Does- 8 months of age and older 503 Inter. Bucks- 6-8 months of age 504 Inter. Does- 6-8 Months of age 505 Junior Bucks- under 6 months of age 506 Junior Does- under 6 months of age Four Class Rabbits (Fancy Breeds) 510 Senior Bucks- 6 months of age and older 511 Senior Does- 6 months of age and older 512 Junior Bucks- under 6 months of age 513 Junior Does- under 6 months of age Market Classes 520 Meat Pen- Three of either sex, same breed, same variety each weighing between 3-5 lbs. Age limit is 10 weeks. Animals under 3lbs. and over 5lbs will be cut in score. 521 Single Fryer-Not over 10 weeks of age. Minimum weight of 3 lbs, Maximum weight of 5lbs. 522 Single Roaster-Must be less than 6 months of age. Minimum weight of 3 lbs. Maximum weight of 5lbs. 533 Single Stewer-Must be over 6 months of age. Minimum weight 5lbs. No Maximum weight. Rules and Regulations 1. 2. 3. No more than 2 entries per class number per exhibitor. Rabbits should be permanently marked as per ARBA Standards; if not Temporary ids will be place in the ear of each rabbit. A Best of Class will be chosen from both 4 and 6 Class, then an overall Grand Champion. Note classes 501- 513 will abide by weight limits as set by the American Rabbit Breeders Association Standards of Perfection. The Breeding Classes will be judged according to the American Rabbit Breeders Book of Standards. Best of Class Meat Pen, Single Fryer, Roaster, and Stewer will also be selected. All Market Classes will be judged on meat carrying qualities, firmness of flesh, and finish of fur in that order. All breeds shown in the Market classes will show in each class together.
