Description of the Career Project
Choose a career in which you are interested. Research your career
area to find the information as listed below. Display the information and
related pictures in the form of a POWER POINT PRESENTAION,
PREZI, GOOGLE DOCS, VIDEO, SCRAPBOOK, or SHOW
BOARD.
Include a title, your name, and the following information.
1. Introduction—Give a brief description of the career and explain why
you are interested in this field. (Remembering; Understanding)
2. Skills and Education/Training—Explain in detail what skills are
desirable for this career. What education and/or training will you
need? (Remembering; Understanding)
3. Working Environment/Conditions—Describe in detail what your
working environment and conditions will be. Will you work in an
office, travel, outside, etc? (Remembering; Understanding)
4. Salary—What is the average salary for this career choice? How much
can you expect to make when you begin? How does the salary
compare from state to state? Extra Credit: Make a budget for your
first year based on your salary. (Analyzing; Applying; Creating)
5. Advantages/Disadvantages—What are the advantages and
disadvantages of this career? Is salary an advantage or disadvantage?
Is the schedule an advantage or disadvantage? Do you have the
opportunity to travel and see places without having to spend your
own money? (Analyzing; Evaluating)
6. Conclusion—Explain how you are suited to this career. What special
qualities and interests do you have? Have you often been told, “You
should become a ______, because ________________.” (Analyzing;
Evaluating)
7. Pictures—Include pictures related to your career and a picture of
yourself (may be taken at school with the school camera). The career
related pictures may be drawn by hand, magazine and newspaper
