Only good materials make good products. In Sheng Chang Pharmaceutical
Company, qualified raw materials are purchased after the samples passed the inspection
for the original source, appearance, weight loss on drying, water soluble extract, dilute
alcohol-soluble extract, ash value, acid insoluble ash content, TLC (Thin Layer
Chromotography) identification, HPLC (High Performance Liguid Chromotography)
quantitative analysis, GC (Gas Chromotography) analysis for pesticide remains, and
microbial examination. Derived from natural materials, Chinese herb materials may
sometimes be influenced by heat, bright light, exposure to air, activity of plant enzymes,
insect, bacteria or fungi. Therefore, elaborated cold storage warehouses are used to
maintain the stability of the materials. Over 18,000 square feet of warehouse space in
the plant is used to keep the raw materials remain their characters.
In 2002, Sheng Chang Pharmaceutical Company received the Prize of
National Medical Technology Research and Development for CMC (Chemical,
Manufacture and Control) of Liu Wei Di Huang Wan (Rehmannia Six formula). In
the following year, Sheng Chang Pharmaceutical Company won the same prize again
for the fingerprint of Si Wu Tang (DangGui Four Combination) and its derivative

1.Ginseng and Astragalus Combination 補中益氣湯
Actions: Nourishes chi, ascends yang, supplements the spleen and stomach
Indications: Spleen and stomach deficiency indicated by body heat, sweating, headache,
chillphobia, lack of appetitie, lassitude of the limbs, and a weak puke; rectal
prolapse, hemorrhoidal bleeding, chronic gastritis, neurasthenia, and
