Technical requirements for card design information submission
1. Card design dimensions – 86 x 54 mm, stripe height – 12.5 mm, location – 4 mm from the
upper edge.
2. Suggested submission formats: AI, EPS, TIFF, PSD, PDF.
3. Desired resolution for pixel pictures and photographs (TIFF, PSD) – at least 300dpi (if the
design is previously made in CorelDraw and any effects are used (Lens, Transparency,
Shadows) they must be flattened before exporting to EPS. Otherwise it is better to submit the
base file CDR).
4. All design texts must be converted.
5. Design colors – CMYK (pictures converted from RGB according to the standard profile
EuroscaleCoatedV2) or Pantones.
6. All design objects and texts must be located in at least 3mm from the edge, because the
process of printing and cutting cards may cause some displacement within 1.0 mm. This can
cause visually noticeable dissimilarity of the free edge.
7. In cases where there is no possibility to distribute all objects as mentioned in point 6, the
minimal width of the blank space left must comprise 1.5 mm, otherwise there is no guarantee
that the cutting edge will be far enough from all the objects or texts. To avoid dissimilarities in
the process of putting both sides of the card together, such spacing is allowed only for one
side.
8. If there is a necessity to put some text between the edge of the card and the magnetic
stripe, the text has to be at maximum height of 1.4 mm, leaving blank space of 1.3 mm both
sides.
9. Objects (background picture or color) located at the edge of the card must overlay the
edges for at least 2 mm.
10. Additional suggestions:
- It is advisable not to use any frames considering all perimeter of the card, because it
may cause unavoidable offsets to occur;
- Do not use all 4 CMYK colors for small texts as they may blur because of the color
offset. This also considers white texts carved on objects containing all 4 CMYK colors;
- Small objects (logos, small texts, ornamentations, etc.) must be performed in vectors;
- If cards are to be printed in CMYK colors, but Pantones colors are known, it is highly
advisable to point them. We have an opportunity to use specific percentage of CMYK
colors for Pantones that helps to make colors more precise.
Embossing
Embossing must be placed horizontally, in at least 6 mm from the edge of the card.
Standard text dimensions are:
 2.5 x 3.5 mm (letters and numbers);
 3.5 x 4.5 mm (numbers only);
It is important to take care that the important information on the back side of the card
does not merge with the embossing. All information for embossing must be submitted in
Excel, all textual information (name, surname, etc.) must be performed in capitals.
