Dear Parents
As we are now into the last half term of the school year, I would like to advise you of various staff
changes for September onwards. Mrs Debra Concannon and Mrs Beniston will be retiring and Mrs
Clarke is moving onto pastures new. They have all given considerable commitment and huge dedication
to St Mary’s and I am sure you will join us in wishing them every success with their future plans. There
will be an opportunity at the end of term for parents and Governors to thank them for their service.
We have been very fortunate to have had at St Mary’s teachers who have given lengthy service.
However change at some time is inevitable. Although we are sad to see them go, I am delighted to tell
you that we have been able to recruit highly experienced and very competent teachers to join the St
Mary’s team. The new teachers will have “big shoes to fill” but they come with a wide range of skills,
expertise and great enthusiasm.
Mrs Rosie Boston, a parent and curriculum Governor for the school is to take on the role of Upper KS2
teacher. She has a wide educational background and has taught in all key stages from nursery through to
KS3. Miss Victoria Jackson will be our Early Years practitioner. She has taught throughout all primary
stages and brings with her considerable experience of early years.
I am very confident in the high calibre of the new staff appointed, who under the guidance and
leadership of Mrs Yuen, working alongside Mrs Evans, Mrs Laura Concannon, Miss Latham and the
teaching assistants, St Mary’s will continue to thrive and go onto even greater heights. I am sure you
will warmly welcome the new staff when they visit us for transition days in the forthcoming weeks.
As you know, I have a vested interest in the future of St Mary’s and I truly believe that this is a very
exciting time in the life of the school.
Best wishes
Janice Hamilton
