James Douet is a free-lance industrial archaeologist based in Barcelona,
Spain.
He focuses on
 documenting and evaluating industrial sites,
 conservation programmes,
 interpretative projects,
 narratives and content for exhibitions,
 teaching.
He has coordinated different international projects and has been editor of
the TICCIH Bulletin, newsletter of The International Committee for the
Conservation of the Industrial Heritage, since 1996. In 2003, James
drafted TICCIH’s charter for industrial conservation, adopted that year and
recognised by ICOMOS as the Nizhny Tagil Charter.

places. This is especially useful to determine historical significance to back
up funding applications and listing.
