Cellular Reproduction Test Chapter 16 Friday will be our test on Chapter 16th. This is a big chapter because it carries a lot of information that the students have little experience with. The focus of this chapter is cellular reproduction so we have studied the process of Mitosis and Meiosis. We finished off this chapter working on DNA molecules learning about the history and the structure. The main points of chapter 16: A. B. C. D. E. Cell cycle, especially interphase. Asexual reproduction vs. sexual reproduction Mitosis and the four phases Mitosis compared to Meiosis DNA – structure, replication and transformation via RNA Students should review the Mitosis poster and identify the phases and details of how this process occurs. Make sure you know the difference between chromosomes and cells! Students should use their model of DNA to identify the structure and the patterns to this molecule. Vocabulary for this chapter: Remember how helpful notes cards can be! Mitosis Meiosis Prophase Telophase Thymine Phosphate Sugar Adenine DNA sex cells chromosomes haploid asexual reproduction Interphase Anaphase Metaphase Fertilization Cytosine Guanine Nucleus RNA mutation genes Diploid zygote sexual reproduction ____________________________________________________________ Student Signature ____________________________________________________________ Parent Signature (extra credit)
