Chapter 2: Crime doesn’t pay
We are going to work with chapter two about crimes, textbook p. 11 – 16 and
workbook p. 12 – 18. When we are ready with the chapter you can chose from
different kinds of examinations, test, oral presentation, write an essay e t c.
We’ll come back to that later.
Text 2A is about some rather silly crimes that really went wrong. Read the
chapter and laugh.
Text 2B is about a senior teller in a bank who thought he did the perfect crime.
But did he? Read the text and find out.
What to do with this chapter:
 Listen to the texts, 2A and 2B.
 Read the texts.
Part A: Text 2A p. 12. Text 2B p. 14 line 1-23.
Part B: The whole texts.
 Learn the words.
Part A: 15 words.
Part B: 20 words.
 Translate the texts. You can do it orally to me or you can do a written
translation and hand in to me and I’ll correct it. Translate the same parts as
you read.
 Do the exercises that go with the text. Sometimes you have to work with a
friend to be able to do the exercises.
 Work with the grammar – the plural.
Part A: Textbook p. 98 – 99, § 1.1 – 1.5. Workbook p. 17.
Part B: Textbook p. 98 – 100, § 1.1 – 1.8, workbook p. 17 – 18.
Extra tasks if you get ready with everything:
 Work with Tracks 2, textbook p. 64 – 65, workbook p. 67 – 68. Read the
text, make your own wordlist. Do the exercises that go with the texts. Correct
with a key.
 Write a text of your own. Something that has to do with crime. A short
story, a letter or anything else. Use your imagination! Hand it in to me and
I’ll correct it.
 Read a book. Borrow a novel (why not a detective story?), read it and fill in
a reading report.
