JOHN KALINOWSKI, MS CSCS
Is the Exercise Science Coordinator, and Strength & Conditioning Coordinator at Mercer County Community College with 14 yrs. of
experience as an Athletic Performance Consultant & Personal Trainer in corporate, private, high school, collegiate and semiprofessional settings. John has earned a MS degree in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University and is a Certified Strength &
Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength & Conditioning Association. In addition, John has lectured for the American
College of Sports Medicine, NJISAA, NJDOC, and at other collegiate settings on performance assessment, performance nutrition,
weight management, optimizing athletic performance and minimizing injury, and introducing non-traditional approaches to resistance
and power. He has also peer-reviewed several textbooks and NSCA journal articles.
Coach Kalinowski and Coach John McKenna (Notre Dame HS Director of Performance and Founder/Director of the Irish Strength
Club), as well as several other area leaders in coaching, research, and education make up the core of the Irish Strength Club (ISC)
coaching staff. The ISC delivers nationally and internationally recognized Youth – Professional athletic performance camps, Adult Fit
camps, and certifications in Alternative Training. John has earned his the distinction of being a Underground Strength Coach
Certified Coach , a ISC Master’s Level Coach, and a Kettlebell Athletics Level I coach.
John’s strength & conditioning expertise has led him to a 3 rd place Open Lightweight class and a 4th place Master’s class placing in the
2008 NPC Mid-Atlantic Classic Bodybuilding Competition. He also placed 4th in the Open Lightweight and Master’s classes in the
Atlantic City 2008 South Jersey Natural Bodybuilding Championships.
His expertise also assisted the following: TCNJ Men’s Basketball to the 2008 post-season, MCCC Baseball 2008 Region XIX
Champions. MCCC Softball to the National World Series (‘07) and the Regional Championship (‘05 & ‘06), MCCC Men’s Soccer to
#1, 2, 3 & 3 in the country (’04, ’06, ’05, & ‘08), MCCC Women’s Tennis to National Champions (‘05), MSU women’s soccer team
to a top 20 national Div. III ranking and a #1 ranking in the NJAC (‘03); New Jersey Wildcats to a franchise record for wins (‘02);
GSU Women’s Soccer Team & GSU Men’s Golf Team to school records for wins, as well as a top 25 national ranking (‘00), GSU
Baseball SoCon runner-up (’99 & ’00). He was also a member of the strength & conditioning staff for the defending two-time (‘99 &
‘00) NCAA I-AA Football National Champions – Georgia Southern University Eagles.
John has experience with one-on-one training, group/clinic training and team training.
The diversity of his clients include MLB & NFL players and USL & XFL teams, nationally ranked collegiate athletes, as well as high
school and collegiate baseball, basketball, fencing, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track, volleyball and wrestling athletes;
international athletes, NGA & NPC championship bodybuilders, as well as individuals with medical protocols, senior populations,
those seeking physique enhancement, and a better quality of life.
