Saturday 22 November 2014 Unusual Folded Books with Elizabeth Shorrock The aim of the day is to make a series of small folded books and boxes to enclose them. 10am – 12:30pm Participants will make a series of folded books intended for use as samples that can be developed later. 12:30 – 1:30 Break for lunch 1:30 – 4:00pm After looking at the examples brought by the tutor and their samples from the morning, participants will choose a style to develop into a finished piece. They will learn how to make the covers and a variety of fastenings. There will be paper available to make the finished book but participants might like to bring an old map or book to cut up. Requirements List - Participants will need: Pencil, rubber and ruler Cutting board and knife Paper scissors Pritt Stick and double sided tape Bone folder (if you have one, the tutor will have spares) If you want to bring any of your own papers please do so but there will be plenty available.
