Directions for Vocabulary Foldable 1. Fold a sheet of notebook paper to the red line on the left margin. 2. On the left side, between the holes in the paper, with your pencil, write your name and the title of our current unit. 3. On every fifth line of the back side of the folded paper, draw a line from the edge to the folded crease of the paper, for a total of five lines. 4. With scissors, cut each drawn line. 5. From your vocabulary list, select five words that you think that you need to learn. 6. Write each word on the outside, folded part. 7. Underneath, as you lift each flap on the paper, you find two sides: left and right. a. On the left side, (1) write a personal definition in your own words and (2) write a sentence using the word that also explains or exemplifies the word and also incorporates an IB principal (Learner Profile, ATL, Global Contexts, etc.) or something global, or international. b. On the right side, draw pictures that illustrate each word. 8. Be creative with displaying critical think skills, color, decorative borders, lettering, lines, etc.
