Session 1 Shafranova Natalya First and foremost is that this kind of getting knowledge is rather new to us. Frankly speaking, the lecture was very interesting and absorbing. I consider that I-learning is a great chance for people from all over the world to get new information, knowledge and of course experience that is so important nowadays. Another thing is that it is a great opportunity for us – students of linguistic department – to have some practice of communication. As for the topic of the seminar, I must admit that information sharing is very urgent these days. There is no doubt in the fact that getting new information is a complicated and everlasting process (remember as people say: “live and learn”) that involves great efforts, so it is necessary to help others in this process. The basis of everything is knowledge, it is very essential as I have mentioned above, without it you won’t be able to achieve good results and succeed in your life. And I consider it is truthful not only in the sphere of education but in the variety of other spheres of our life (technology, mass media, cross-cultural communication, etc). So people can take advantages of it and use it different social needs. One of them is education. As a result I think today I-learning is our opportunity. It’s not much of exaggeration to say that nowadays we live in the world of mass media, that is everywhere and we can do nothing without it. And Internet as a part of mass media is also the thing which cannot be dispensed with. As a matter of fact Internet provides an easy access to such a great amount of information. Of course it can be of great use in education. Well if to speak about the requests. Dear Professor, I’d like to know about the influence that mass media in general and Internet in particular have on people. Then it would be great to listen about where such program as I-learning is very popular or in which countries you have the same seminars as we have. Besides, I’m very interested in culture, traditions and customs of your country or may be some peculiar habits which reside in Finns. Last but not least, I’d like to thank first of all you, professor, for such opportunity, you really do a great and important job. You give us a chance to get more knowledge, more information and some experience in the sphere of Ilearning. And of course I’d like to send some special thanks to Ksenia Avetisova, who made it possible to us to get acquainted with I-learning. Sincerely yours Natalya
