CONTENTS OF PRACTICAL TRAINING II The goal of the Practical Training II is to improve students’ ability on Industrial Engineering and Management practices. During the Practical Training II, students have to learn the required information about the company and its processes and have to answer the questions in List 1. Students then have to observe some problems of the processes and provide proper solutions to problems using any of the management tools or methods shown in List 2. List 2 could be enlarged according to conditions of the company. There will be 3 main parts in the internship notebook: Short weekly report explaining weekly activities Answers to the questions (70 points) Project (Problem definition, Material & Method, Results) (30 points) Students also must have their evaluation forms filled by their supervisors and bring it in an enclosed envelope with their internship notebook. Electronic form of the internship notebook will be uploaded on moodle. List 1. Historical information regarding realization of the company and follow-up evolution of the facilities. (2 points) 3. The organizational chart of the company. (4 points) 4. List of administrators, engineers and industrial engineers employed by the company including their contact information. (3 points) 5. Factors considered in the choice of current location for the facility. (4 points) 6. Analyses of raw materials, labor and other resources. (6 points) 7. List of items produced. (List of services produced.) (5 points) 8. Revenue and market share in domestic and export markets including forecasts. (3 points) 9. Description of the production system in the company. (Description of the service system in the company.) (10 points) 10. Description of the computer network in the company. (2 points) 11. List of software used in the organization. (2 points) 12. Description of any specialized Industrial Engineering software. (3 points) 13. Production planning and control activities in the company. (10 points) 14. Quality control and management activities. September 30st: Last day of accepting “Internship Notebook and Evaluation Form” October 11th: Last day of announcing the results of Practical Training II as acceptance, rejection or correction. First Corrections: October 28th: Last day of accepting corrected internship notebooks. November 4th: Last day of announcing the results of corrected internship notebooks. Second Corrections: November 18rd: Last day of accepting corrected internship notebooks. November 25th: Last day of announcing the results of corrected internship notebooks.
