RF01 50th at Gap-Tallard France, 14-19th June 2010 How To Get There ? The meeting point is at Gap Tallard (LFNA airfield). Then the CFI members will fly to Cannes and to Le Bourget. The Simplest Way is by Air. You arrive by any Airline at Paris, Charles de Gaulle airport. Then you take a one hour flight connection to Marseille. Air-France has almost 20 flights a day. In Marseille you are 150 kms (90 miles) south of Gap. If you rent a car you can take highway A51 for a 1.5 to 2 hour journey past the charming city of Aix en Provence and the Durance River with its beautiful scenery. The Train. Take the TGV high-speed train from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport for a three hour fast, comfortable trip direct to Aix en Provence or Marseille. From there, you rent a car as described above. FORGET about taking the slow train between Marseille, Lyon or Grenoble to Gap because these trains are very infrequent and the trip is very long! Other Possibilities -By car from Paris by motorway to Lyon and Grenoble (5.5 hrs), then by road via the Col de Luz mountain pass ( 2 hrs). -By car from Geneva to Grenoble then Gap; half auto route, half road (3.5 hrs). To sum up, the easiest way is to fly or take TGV to Marseille; then rent a car with the very easy trip (highway A51) that passes within ½ mile of the Gap Airport.
