Mixed Media Painting
Through hands-on experience and experimentation, this studio fosters the visual
realization of your inner voice by teaching the complimentary use of diverse paint media,
collage, found materials, fabric, and an endless variety of other resources in a single
work. A studio where more is often more. Includes expeditions to galleries and
museums.
Artist: Mary Jane Porter. Cost: $40. Mondays 5:00-7:00. Feb. 19 – May 14.
Screenprinting
Students will learn how to create fine art screenprints and screened tee shirts and apparel.
All of the various approaches to screenprinting will be explored, from the photo emulsion
technique to the stencil block-out method. Students will explore their creativity and
produce their own individual projects.
Artist: Steve Cluck. Cost: $40. Wednesdays 5:30-7:00. Feb. 21 – May 16.
Experimental Puppetry
An ancient art for the post-modern artist, puppetry gives voice to our most impossible
ideas. In this studio, you will create your own universe out of the world's cast-off junk
and raw materials. Learn about the different forms and styles, construct a puppet of your
own devising, and help direct and puppeteer an ultimate performance as edgy, wild, and
relevant as your imagination dares. This ain't kids stuff.
Artist: John Cruncleton. Cost: $40. Saturdays 2:00-3:30pm. Feb. 24 – May 19.
Comic Book & Fantasy Art
This studio is an introduction to the ideas and tools of the comic book & fantasy art trade
and how to use them. It will cover the nuts and bolts of story board drawing, page layout,
story concepts and dramatic development, but will also focus on individual projects and
individual creativity. Everything you need to get your ideas out of your head, onto paper,
and into the public eye.
Artist: Phillip Hollecker. Cost: $40. Saturdays 2:00-4:00pm. Feb. 24 – May 19.
Experimental Photography
Using some traditional and much non-traditional equipment and methods, create wholly
new and different works in the medium of photography. You will experiment with
pinhole cameras, quad lenses, Polaroids, tinting, filters, collage
techniques, darkroom techniques and many other means of manipulation.
Artist: Crystal Hoffman. Cost: $40.Wednesdays 5:30-7:00. Feb. 21 – May 16.
*Wheel Throwing
A studio in clay offered in partnership with the new 3rd Street Clayworks. Students will
learn how to throw pots, glaze and fire.
Artist: Jeff Wells. Cost: $50. An eight week studio on Fridays 6:00-9:00pm. Feb. 23Apr. 20.

*YST Drama Troupe
An exciting and important opportunity for youth, the YST Drama Troupe is a touring
ensemble of youth who research, write and perform plays addressing youth-specific
issues, exploring the ideas and topics that affect every teen. An ongoing program, the
Drama Troupe is always accepting new members committed to the idea of writing and
performance as a way to both freely express themselves, their concerns, and their
opinions and to using this expression for positive development.
Artist: Scott Heberling. Cost: This program is free.

*Video Art
Learn the nuts and bolts of video movie making. Making Movies is a basic video class
which teaches video editing and the use of video as an art-making tool. Learn not only
how to do it yourself, but also about some of the great video art and artists who are out
there today. This studio is offered in partnership with Living Arts of Tulsa.
Artist: David McPherson. Cost: $50. Mondays 5:30-7:30pm. Feb. 19 – May 14.
