HOMEWORK
Famous Artist Project- Your child will complete an independent study on an artist of their
choice. They are to complete the provided independent study at their own pace for
homework over the next month. Your child will be asked to present their research to the
class during the week of May 11th. They may make a poster, slideshow or other visual
aid for their presentation. I would also like your child to write 5 paragraphs on their artist.
Ideas for paragraphs but are not limited to include: early life, training, their “art”, legacy
and your child’s opinions / reflection of their art. The children are not allowed to select an
artist we will be covering in class. Artists that will be covered in class include: da Vinci,
Gainsborough, Goya, van Gogh and Rembrandt van Rijn.
We did discuss in class that art is a way of expressing creativity. Your child could pick
anyone they can validate as an artist.
This could range from painter, sculpture, fashion
designer, dancer, actor, comedian, architect ect..
Below we discussed in class some possible information that your child could include in
each paragraph.
