Halm HEP PWM high efficiency pump with external digital and
analogue inputs
Halm, efficient pump technology is adding a further high efficiency pump to its
product range with the new HEP PWM. The external inputs of the electronically
commutated pump enable speed control with external controllers. The pump
features a digital PWM input, whose mode of operation (standard or inverted) can
be selected via an integrated switch.
PWM signals are currently not standardised across the market. In order to ensure that the
HEP PWM still harmonises with the majority of standard controllers, HALM was careful to
implement a wide-band design of the digital inputs at the development stage.
The permissible voltage range of the external PWM signal is 100-2000 Hz, the
permissible frequency range 5-24V.
The minimum rotational speed of the HEP PWM pumps is 700 rpm, thus also enabling
very low volume flow rates which are required, for example, in freshwater stations.
The HEP PWM offers two different signal types:
a PWM standard signal for all applications in which the pump immediately stops if the
external control fails (e.g. solar applications) and an inverted PWM signal which switches
the pump to 100% power in such an event (e.g. CHP stations).
As in the whole Halm high efficiency line, established features such as the all-ceramic
bearings, the bleeder screw, the cataphoresis coating of the housing, and the soft start
are integrated.
