A depression is heading from Scotland to the northern North Sea. Associated cold front is crossing the London
area around or closely after midnight. A strong SW’ly flow is sending the remnants of a wrapped around
occlusion which will cross the North Sea from W to E in the course of the day. Apart from some breaks,
showers will develop. Even a moderate shower is possible. Overnight, some stabilization will take place and dry
spells will gradually prevail.
Weather: In first hours after midnight, area London, mostly cloudy to overcast with periods of
mainly light rain. Turning unstable in early morning, resulting in initial large breaks in morning and
forenoon. From noon breaks alternating with longer cloudy periods. Rain showers and an temporarily
moderate/heavy shower or periods of showery rain. In the course of late evening/overnight,
intensity and frequency of showers will diminish.
Temperatures: 10-14°C. Sea water: 10-11°C.
Wind: SW, in evening veering to W temporarily WNW, at first 15-20kt gradually 20-25kt with gusts
30-35kt. Further offshore even 25-30kt for a while, with gusts 35-40kt.
Visibilities: Good, moderate in precipitation or showers.
Waves: In the Thames Estuary hardly 0.5-1.0m. Further offshore ca. 1.5m, at sea 2.0-2.5m.

Depression retiring to the NE, moving into Scandinavia. A new depression in the vicinity of Iceland is nearing
simultaneously. In between both systems, a temporarily stabilization takes place over the North Sea due to the
passage of a weak, mobile ridge of high pressure. A rather strong W’ly wind will remain, although the passage
of the ridge will ease the wind for a while around noon and in early afternoon.
The frontal system over the Atlantic Ocean is expected to cross the area overnight or Monday morning. On
approach clouds will gather in the course of late afternoon and evening.
Weather: Sunny. Breaks alternating with some cloud fields. A last odd shower could still occur in
morning, but otherwise conditions will remain mainly dry. By late afternoon and in evening gathering
high and later medium clouds.
Temperatures: 10-13°C. Sea water 10-11°C.
Wind: WNW to NW, gradually backing to SW. 15-20kt gusts 25kt. In afternoon temporarily 10-15kt
with gusts around 20-25kt. By late afternoon or evening increasing winds becoming 20-25kt with
gusts 30kt.
Visibilities: Mainly good.
Waves: Around 1.5m, at sea 2.0m.
