Press Release EGGER cork+ Flooring
ST. JOHANN, OCTOBER 2013
SILENT, WARM
DIMENSION
AND
ECOLOGICAL
IN
A
NEW
The revised EGGER cork+ flooring collection scores highly with new
decors, a new format and convincing characteristics.
EGGER cork+ flooring is pleasantly silent and warm. It offers a good priceperformance ratio and meets the highest ecological standards. The twelve
new decors support trend-conforming designs and ensure comfort in all
rooms.
In particular, the trend in favour of natural and open living is reflected in the new
developments for the current EGGER cork+ flooring collection. The Tyrolean woodbased material manufacturer has included twelve new decors in the revised cork
flooring collection for specialist distributors. “With EGGER cork+ flooring, the
currently very popular oak decors take centre stage. These include both natural and
more lively versions, with striking knots and large-scale grains. Wild Oak which
isbased on the successful Arlington Oak decor from the Floorline Collection is highly
popular for example,” says Michael Gerbl, Head of Marketing & PM EGGER Retail
Products, offering some initial insight.
Next to the Classic floor board format (1,292 x 193 mm (50.87” x 7.60”)), seven
decors are being offered for the first time in the Large floor board format (1,292 x
245 mm (50.87” x 9.65”)) as part of the new EGGER cork+ collection. Because the
floor boards are wider, rooms appear visually larger with a free and open
atmosphere. 4 sided bevels enhance the original floor board character while the
brushed Rustic wood effect surface establishes a coherent feel.
TRUST IN THE PRODUCT: THE 2ND GENERATION CORK+
The EGGER cork+ flooring collection combines the advantages of cork as a natural
product with the functionality of laminate flooring. With cork+ technology, the decor
and surface are applied to the special cork material using a direct printing process.
This results in floor boards with trendy woodgrain decors and a perfectly fitting
designer surface, visually appearing like laminate flooring. The difference is
revealed in the feel and in acoustics: Impact and ambient sound are optimised, the
flooring feels warm and soft.
EGGER places great trust in sustainable and functional cork+ flooring. This is why
the product has been continuously revised, new decors developed and the product
characteristics improved. The flooring in the new collection has been certified
according to the prEN 16511 standard in usage Class 31, so that it can also be used
for commercial applications such as hotel rooms.

NATURALLY ECOLOGICAL
EGGER cork+ flooring is ecological and sustainable thanks to the natural materials
used: Wood in the form of high-density EGGER HDF Swell Stop Plus fibreboard and
cork. The direct printing process, which means the direct application of the decor to
the high-density cork layer, also helps protect the environment since production is
without decorative paper.
EGGER cork+ flooring is free of PVC and softeners. All dyes and coatings that are
used are environmentally friendly. As proof of healthy living and safety, the product
bears the “Der blaue Engel” seal of approval. The flooring is CE and PEFC-certified
and also bears the Ü-marking thanks to building authority approval. EGGER has
been a member of the MMFA (Association of Multilayer Modular Floor Coverings) –
since May 2013 and is therefore also promoting the establishment of this new
flooring class at the international level.
OPTIMISED SALES ASSISTANCE
The new EGGER cork+ flooring collection is sold through wholesalers to specialist
tradespeople such as flooring installers and interior decorators. All advertising
media has been revised in order to support distributors with sales argumentation for
the sustainable product with its convincing characteristics.
The marketing collection folder contains original samples of every decor. Floor
board formats and the product composition are illustrated with the help of large
samples in floor board width. An integrated tapping test invites you to compare this
silent flooring. Visually the sales tool designed especially for the needs of the
distributor is complemented by a large A3 book, visualising every decor once again
in its original size and as a room image.
Fifteen A4 product brochures are included with the delivery of each collection folder
for distribution to end customers. Straightforward explanations of the attributes
silent, warm and ecological along with attractive room images provide information
and simultaneously serve as inspiration.
The sales assistance tool is rounded off with the integration of cork+ flooring in the
EGGER VDS solutions (Virtual Design Studio). From a smart phone to a tablet PC,
the VDS programmes are now also available online on all end devices.
