Medical Guidelines in Becoming a Donor
You must be between the ages of 18 - 60
You CANNOT register for the Marrow Program if you have:

Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C positive and/or at risk

HIV positive and/or at risk

Cancer

Heart Disease

Experienced a heart attack, angioplasty, coronary stent placement,
pacemaker placement, open heart surgery, or stroke

Experienced a seizure within the last year

Had back surgery within the past 5 years
You also cannot have any of the following diseases: Psoriasis, Chronic Lung
Disease, Polycystic Kidney Disease, Sjogrens Sydrome, Rheumatoid Arthritis,
Ankylosing Spondylitis, Chronic Severe Asthma on Prednisone (steroid)
medication, Multiple Sclerosis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosis, Juvenile Type 1
Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus, Ulcerative Colitis, or Crohn's disease,
Significant Obesity, received an organ or marrow transplant.
You CAN register for the marrow program if:

You are between the ages of 18 and 60 years old

You are pregnant

You had a recent tattoo

You had a body piercing done recently

You are on antibiotics temporarily

Thyroid (over or under active- medication – Synthroid accepted)
If you have already donated in the past, you are part of
the registry, and therefore you do not need to donate
again.
