It’s our pleasure to announce that this year’s Black Elementary Annual Talent Show is scheduled at the Sterling Heights Performing Arts Center on FRIDAY, MARCH 28, 2014 and we are looking forward to putting on a show that the whole family wilh enjoy, but in order to do that, we need YOU and Your Talent ! Below are a few questions that may help you make your decision:
Question: Who can be in the show?
Answer: Any Black Elementary student who wants to have fun and share his/her talent
with an audience. These students MUST have permission from their parent/guardian.
For those who are interested in being in the Talent Show, please have the attached Permission
Slip Form signed by a parent/guardian and turned in by Thursday, February 6 th . Because of the unexpected snow days, it is imperative that we receive the permission slips on time so students can receive their rehearsal / tryout information. If the permission slip is NOT turned in by this date, your child WILL NOT perform in the show, so be sure to get it in!
Question: What type of performance can be in the show?
Answer:
Any type as long as it’s entertaining, fun, safe and appropriate!
As a reminder, our Talent Show is an elementary talent show; therefore it is Rated G!
This means that we will not allow any song (no matter how popular) that has inappropriate language; so we are asking the parents/guardians, to be proactive with their child’s song choice. HINT: If you’re on the fence with a popular song, don’t let them do it or check out another version through the
“KIDS BOP COLLECTION” because they change the lyrics for young listeners.
Question: When will students receive their rehearsal/tryout date? And if they’re not completely prepared by rehearsal time can they still be in the show?
Answer: All rehearsal information will go home with students on Monday, February, 10 th .
Please make note that any student who has a signed permission slip and who attends a rehearsal date, will be in the show!
O nce we’ve collected the signed permission slips we will then send out detailed information regarding each performer’s scheduled date for his/her rehearsal/ tryout which will be held on Wed.
February 26 th or Thurs. February 27 th . Each act will have to appear at one of the scheduled rehearsals; it does not have to be polished, but it should be started and music should be cut!

Our Annual Talent Show has become a major event for our school and we really look forward to seeing the wonderful talent our students have to offer!
