Research Work and Supervision
1. Research Study on solvent extraction and its application to hydrometallurgical processing of
metallic minerals and metallic wastes.

3. Preparation of Pigment Grade titanium dioxide from ilmenite sands of Cox’s Bazaar and
associated theoretical solvent extraction studies with Organo-phosphorus reagents for Ti(IV),
Fe(III), Cr(III), Mn(III) and V(IV) from synthetic leach solutions.
4. Synthesis of Organo-phosphorous reagents for rapid and selective extraction of Ti(IV) from
ilmenite leach liquors.
5. Solvent extraction with LIX reagents.
6. Research Study on performed organic phase reduction with Cu-LIX 34 complex by hydrogen
gas at high pressure and temperature for Cu powder preparation at the Imperial College,
London.
Present research interest is towards the utilization of metal containing wastes generated by the
local industries for the minimization environmental pollution with special attention to the nickel
containing wastes of fertilizer plants, chromium containing wastes of tanneries and utilization of
waste batteries.
Presently, engaged in environmental pollution research and monitoring.

1. Arsenic Removal from water by adsorption by different substrates.
2. Electrochemical leaching of ilmenite in acid medium.
3. Solvent extraction separation Ti and Fe by cyanex-272.
4. Solvent extraction separation of AL and NI leach solution of spent fertilizer catalyst by
Cyanex-272.
