WM – Will check the situation with the Estate Maintenance Team. WM Panel very happy with Rukon Choudhury the recently appointed Estate Co-ordinator. Breyer (Pg 3) – JE advised there is a meeting next week with the Capital Project Team when issues regarding Breyer will be discussed. 1 TC – Highlighted assistance he had from Dominic in the scheduling planning Team. JE undertook to feed this compliment back. JE Kerridge Court Doors Matts (Pg 6) – WM confirmed that these can be cleaned with a hard brush and the caretaker has been shown how to clean the matts. 3 Environmental Improvement Budget & Estate Security Budget – Ian Maitland IM - Advised panel that papers regarding the under-spend have not yet been sent as the Team wished to have an accurate picture of the amount prior to sending the letters. Confirmed that the letters in this respect will be going out week commencing the 13th July. Panel were then taking through the spreadsheets distributed regarding projects funded from these budgets with questions taken during this process. CLK – Enquiring as to why the fencing works on Hathersage Court cost so much. IM – Did not cost that particular job but will look into it. IM JW – Highlighted the need to ensure that leaseholders are aware of these jobs due to the potential cost. Also concerned by Hawthorne Close TRA’s name being used in regards to the improved lighting issue near the Mildmay Community Centre. IM – We will change this. IM JW – Enquired about liability for bikes stored in enclosed facilities. WM – Confirmed that the Council is not liable and residents should arrange cover for their bikes. JW – Requesting that panel are kept fully updated on all the schemes and progress. IM – Undertook to do this. Additional update provided in regards to Mildmay Street CCTV where it is anticipated the works will be completed next week. JW – Would like reports printed in a larger font for future meetings. 4 IM Preventing Scams & Fraud – Fiona Exley Power-point presentation made to panel on this with leaflets and 2 information items, on the issues covered, distributed. SW – Will liaise with Fiona about more leaflets for distribution at TRA meetings as required. JW – Thanked Fiona for attending. 5 ASB – Hass Mahmood (Met Police/Mildmay Ward) HM – Presentation about Mildmay Dispersal Zone. New legislation used for the first time in the Mildmay area about 6 weeks ago. Clarification provided around the dispersal zone and the area it covered. Targeted at youths in the area. Informed that crime was down in the area over the corresponding weekend when it actually rained quite a bit. A couple of street warnings were issued for cannabis possession and action taken against one female youth. NH – Can this be implemented in other areas? HM – This will need to be discussed with the officers in the Canonbury ward. JW – Highlighted that on the 07th July there will be a meeting by the Police in the Mildmay Community Centre for the Mildmay ward. The Mildmay ward councillors will be attending and the start time is 6.30pm. HM – Highlighted that they are looking for a chair for that meeting. JW – Pleading for residents in the Mildmay area to get involved. SW – Enquired about the promotion of the meeting. HM – Confirmed that he had met with the TRA’s in the Mildmay ward and that posters had gone up. 3 6 Repairs Priorities – Paul Lightfoot & John Everett PL – Took panel through the main aspects of the report highlighting three areas that need to change:i) the culture of the staff ii) the I.T system which is about to go into procurement & iii) how we actually deliver repairs Issue is mainly in regards to the timescales into which we categorise the repairs. Now looking at changing some of the timescales and priorities and advised panel of the proposed revisions as contained within the report. JW – Will Housing Direct be aware of what you are implementing. PL – Yes but the I.T system is not good and the staff will need to be trained. JW – Would like a one off meeting where this can be discussed. PL – The timescales provided within the report are all ‘within’ and it’s worth mentioning that a lot of this hinges on the implementation of a new IT system. Provided a rough oversight of how long the implementation could take. JW – As you do not have an I.T system we need to discuss. PL – This report is not so much about the I.T system but more about the priorities. JW – Read out the recommendations to panel and proposing that P.L liaises with SW about a date for a meeting of about an hour to discuss this issue. 7 PL & SW A.O.B JW – Highlighted the issue of the main drains on Hawthorne Close still being an issue. WM – Undertook to look into this. WM 4 Date of next meeting 10th September 2015 in Committee Room 4 Town Hall, Upper Street, N1 5
