DIVINE MERCY DEVOTION
St.Faustine records in her diary that: ‘I saw Jesus dressed in a white garment.
He held one hand raised in blessing and the other hand was touching his
garment at the breast. From under the garment came two rays of light, one
red and the other pale.’
Jesus instructed St.Faustine to paint His image with the signature ‘Jesus I
trust in You.’ Jesus wished the image to be venerated and attached a great
promise to it.
‘I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I further
promise to that soul victory over enemies here on earth especially at the hour of
death. I, Myself, shall defend that soul as My own glory….’
The Novena can be said at any time, but Our Lord especially wished that it be
made beginning Good Friday in preparation for the Feast of His Mercy,
which is celebrated on the Second Sunday of Easter.
To people who spread devotion to Divine Mercy Jesus said: ‘Souls who spread
the honour of My mercy I will shield through their entire life and at the hour
of death I will not be a judge for them, but the Merciful Saviour.’
Short Novena to obtain graces through the intercession of Saint Faustina:
Jesus, you gave your servant, Saint Faustina
the gift of deep reverence for your
unending Mercy. I ask you if it be
Your holy will, to grant me, through her
Prayers, the graces for which I fervently pray…..
(mention your need)
Because of my sins, I don’t deserve Your mercy,
But I ask you to remember Saint Faustina’s Spirit
of sacrifice and self-denial, and to be gracious to her faithful
love of You, by granting the petition which I make to You now, with
childlike trust through her intercession. Amen.
Please pray for: Edda Norton, Hannah Mulcahy, Mary Farrell,
Kathleen Harris, Teresa Waldron, Ann McGowan,
Lawrence Christopher Redmond and Dr.Peter Loly whose anniversaries
are at this time.

EASTER SUNDAY THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD- YEARC
Dear Parishioners,
Father Sean and I wish you a very blessed and happy Easter. May the risen
Christ grant you and all your loved ones a big share in His peace and joy.
Thank you for all your generous and prayerful support at this time. It is
greatly appreciated.
We attended the Mass of Chrism at St.Chad’s on Wednesday. It was a most
beautiful and inspiring occasion, with the Archbishop, Bishops Philip, David
and William and over 200 Priests. T this Mass all the Priests renewed their
commitment to Priestly Service. Also at this Mass the oils that we use for
Baptism, Confirmation and for the Sick were Blessed.
We would like to thank our young people for leading us in the Divine Mercy
Chaplet on Tuesday. It was a very inspiring service.
We offer our prayers and congratulations to Alan Pearce who will be received
into Full Communion at the Easter Vigil.
Next Sunday, the Second Sunday of Easter, is Divine Mercy Sunday. There
will be special devotions here in St.Augustine’s Church from 2.30pm-4.30pm.
Tea will be served at 4.30pm. The Novena to the Divine Mercy starts on Good
Friday. During Easter Week we will recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet after the
10.00am Mass each morning.
We are delighted to inform you that the Lenten CAFOD Lunches have raised
£1,040:00 Thank you to each and everyone for your generous support.
The one collection at the Masses for Easter will be your traditional Easter
Offering for the Priests of the Parish.
