DIVINE MERCY DEVOTION St.Faustine records in her diary that: ‘I saw Jesus dressed in a white garment. He held one hand raised in blessing and the other hand was touching his garment at the breast. From under the garment came two rays of light, one red and the other pale.’ Jesus instructed St.Faustine to paint His image with the signature ‘Jesus I trust in You.’ Jesus wished the image to be venerated and attached a great promise to it. ‘I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I further promise to that soul victory over enemies here on earth especially at the hour of death. I, Myself, shall defend that soul as My own glory….’ The Novena can be said at any time, but Our Lord especially wished that it be made beginning Good Friday in preparation for the Feast of His Mercy, which is celebrated on the Second Sunday of Easter. To people who spread devotion to Divine Mercy Jesus said: ‘Souls who spread the honour of My mercy I will shield through their entire life and at the hour of death I will not be a judge for them, but the Merciful Saviour.’ Short Novena to obtain graces through the intercession of Saint Faustina: Jesus, you gave your servant, Saint Faustina the gift of deep reverence for your unending Mercy. I ask you if it be Your holy will, to grant me, through her Prayers, the graces for which I fervently pray….. (mention your need) Because of my sins, I don’t deserve Your mercy, But I ask you to remember Saint Faustina’s Spirit of sacrifice and self-denial, and to be gracious to her faithful love of You, by granting the petition which I make to You now, with childlike trust through her intercession. Amen. Please pray for: Edda Norton, Hannah Mulcahy, Mary Farrell, Kathleen Harris, Teresa Waldron, Ann McGowan, Lawrence Christopher Redmond and Dr.Peter Loly whose anniversaries are at this time.
