stages. An inquiry will be held into Jockey Sampson’s alleged failure to ride this filly out to the end of the
race.
NORTHERN BEACHBABE and TEDDY’S DREAM – raced green.
RED SETTER – Trainer P Dempers appeared before the Board with regard to this filly’s behaviour prior to
the start of the race. He was advised to re-school RED SETTER prior to his next engagement or else this
filly may be suspended in terms of Rule 93.2.4. Jockey J Bekker was given permission to hack this filly to the
start.
SUN ROSE – ridden by Jockey M Mienie.

Mr W van der Walt, the course farrier on duty, did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the
horses that raced at today’s racemeeting.
The passports of all the runners that raced at today’s racemeeting were checked, identities and AHS vaccinations
confirmed, as per normal procedure.
Jockey B Smith was stood down by the Course Medical Officer after the running of race 5. He was replaced on his
mounts in race 6 and 7. (Sciatica)
Jockey G Figueroa did not ride in tonight’s racemeeting. He was replaced on all his mounts. (Stood down, KZN,
11th November 2003)
Jockey R van Wyk did not ride in tonight’s meeting. He was replaced on all his mounts. (Injured in fall, Turffontein
Racecourse, 8th November 2003)

published from time to time in the Racing Calendar.

ADDENDUM : Newmarket Racecourse, 1st November 2003, race 6 :
DANIGMA (AUS) – Jockey M J Odendaal signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that
whilst riding this horse he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to CELTIC
GROVE and ANGUS at approximately the 1300 metre mark. The penalty imposed is a
suspension from riding in and attending race meetings for a period of one week.
The following Jockey and Apprentice were selected for the taking of a breathalyser test and urine samples for
analysis. They were advised by Mr Parker.
