A 100 point Concours scoring system for show cars
Deductions will be made in minimum increments of ¼ point.
There will be five categories: Engine Compartment: 25 total points, Paint, coachwork: 25
total points, Interior: 22 total points, Lights, glass trim: 20 total points, and Chassis,
underbody: 8 total points. Total all categories: 100 points.
There will be a separate deduction column for cleanliness/ corrosion and leaks, and stains
where applicable, under each overall category rather than for each judged item. As
before, the greater emphasis will be on authenticity, with the lone exception being paint
and coach-work, where the emphasis will be on quality of body and paint work as well as
fit. Authenticity and condition are combined in every category. Therefore the judge
should use caution when evaluating a series of items. In this sheet authenticity does not
have a separate deduction category, but it is always recommended, especially when
judging interiors and engine compartments, that items most commonly swapped out for
incorrect replacements be deducted for authenticity accordingly. Examples are:
upholstery changes, carpeting, radio, battery, clamps, hoses, belts, etc.
Most judged items are described below, and some are in parenthesis, but the judged items
are not limited to those described in each category. There will be a separate
miscellaneous item under each category, .i.e. items not covered or described. The only
exception being paint and coachwork.
Engine Compartment: 25 total points
Cooling system :(radiator, fan, hoses clamps, expansion tank, water pump, and cap)
HVAC system: ( heater hoses, A/C condensor, auxiliary fan, and air ducts)
Engine, manifolds, mounts:( includes color and finish of block, bolts on manifolds)
Fuel delivery and induction system: ( carburetors, fuel injection lines, hoses, clamps)
Wires, harness, relays, fuses: ( fuse box, clamps)
Ignition system: ( distributor, coil, ballast, ignition wires and ends, clamps)
Battery charging system: ( alternator, voltage reg, battery, cables, clamps, bat tray)
Braking system: ( master cylinder, booster, ABS, brake lines, reservoir, cap)
Firewall:,(grommets and anything attached to and exiting from firewall)
Steering system: ( steering box, power steering pump, lines, belts, steering shaft,
Horns, wiper linkage, washer reservoir
Under hood body finish, including inner fenders, under-hood and insulating hood pad
