The
Sophisticated
Test
and
Instrumentation
Centre
(STIC)
will
organize a two-day workshop on
“Material
Characterization
at
Nanoscales” for researchers in the
emerging area of nanoscience and
nanotechnology on 25 and 26 March
2013. The workshop will cover advanced
techniques generally employed for the
characterization of nanomaterials. The
topics to be covered will include the
following.

X-ray diffraction
Electron Microscopy
Dynamic light scattering
Scanning Probe microscopy
Small angle X-ray scattering
Raman and other spectroscopies, etc
The workshop includes demonstration
/practicals with instruments available in
the SAIF of STIC.
The
workshop
will
be
led
by
Dr. M.K. Jayaraj (CUSAT), Dr. K.
Nandakumar (MGU), Dr. Jacob Philip
(STIC) etc.
Eligibility
Teachers, Scientists, Research scholars
and students with an M.Sc. or equivalent
degree in Materials Science/Physics/
Chemistry or any related discipline are
eligible for admission to the workshop.

Registration Fee
Fees for participation in the workshop is
Rs. 1000/- per participant.
Registration fee covers Course materials,
working lunch and tea.
Accommodation may be provided in the
University Guest House on payment
basis at the request of participant.
