The 2nd China (HuiAn) International Carving Arts Expo
9-12 November, 2013, Hui’An
Overview
The 2nd China (Hui’An) International Carving Arts Expo 2013 was successfully held from 9-12
November, 2013 at Chengnan Exhibition Center, Hui’An County, which were jointly organized by China Arts and
Crafts Association, Fujian Provincial Economic & Trade Commission, Fujian Provincial Department of Foreign
Trade & Economic Cooperation, Quanzhou Municipal Government and Hui’An CCPIT.
This Expo covers over 800 booths with the total area of 30,000 ㎡, including the indoor hall 700
booths and outdoor hall 100 boths 2,000 ㎡, attracting about 250 overseas exhibitors fromVietnam, Myanmar,
South Korea, Pakistan, Hongkong, Macau, Taiwan and other countries and regions. The Exhibits displaying
consists of the following areas : 1.Stone Carving: Ancient Garden Sculpture,Construction Stone,Stones,Stones
Arts, Creative monument; 2.Wooden Carving3.Jade Carving and jewelry 4. Sculptures and other Arts &
Crafts5.Carving Machinery; 6. Raw material and Accessories.
This expo is a collection of trade negotiation, matchmaking , culture show and skill exchange, with the theme
of “Inheritance Carving Arts Culture, Leading Creative Future” , using the approach of Exhibition and Sale,
Exhibition and Matching, Exhibition and Competition. Sereies activities includes the Opening Ceremony, charity
auction, Famous Brands of Stone and Jade Carving Forum, New products Conference. More than 180 pieces of
exquisite carving were auctioned at charity auction, it is a way of drawing attention to attract visitors. This Expo is
an window to show the image of carving arts of Hui’An. The Expo aims to accelerate Hui’An to be the Hometown
of Carving Arts in the world, to let people know well of Hui’An.
Profile fo Huian Carving Arts Industry
Hui’An is well-known as the Chinese Stone Carving City. In Year 2012 the GDP of Hui'an County added up
to 38.8 billion yuan, and the industrial output value 16.643 billion yuan . The industry added value of carving arts
culture achieved to be 27.38 billion yuan. Currently there are nearly 900 companies with the business of carving
arts, accounting for 8% of GDP. The carving products are exported to more than 100 countries and regions,
including Taiwan, Macau, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, U.S.A. and other European countries. By the end of Year
2012, the output value of carving enterprise reached 151.4 billion yuan, with more than 100,000 employees.
Hui’An rank to be the Top 10 County (City) of Economic strength in Fujian Province for 17 consecutive years.
Summary
Office of Commercial Affairs, Royal Thai Consulate-General, Xiamen (TTC-Xiamen) was invited by Hui’An
CCPIT to be the VIP guest to attend the Opening Ceremony. Hui’An CCPIT hopes TTC-Xiamen would be the tie
and bridge to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Thailand & Hui’An, inviting the Thai exhibitors to
join the Hui’An Carving Arts Expo 2014, such as enhance the visibility of fine gems and jewelry , as its
processing are very famous in the world. Hui’An Stone Carving, Nan’An Stones are exported to Thailand.
On 28-29 August, 2013 Department of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce, Royal Thai Government (DFT)
organized the group from Thai Marble Association, Granite & Marble Industrial Group,The Federal of Thai
Industries, to visit stone carving factories of Hui’An, also the Nan’An, the famous Stone City in China.
Through the exchange of visits, joining the expo would be the good way to enhance mutual cooperation with
each other. TTC-Xiamen would like to forward the fair information to related Thai companies to be the exhibitors
or buyers to attend China (HuiAn) International Carving Arts Expo 2014.
