Obituary The Great Depression was born in 1929, right after the stock market crashed. It Caused millions of people to lose their jobs, putting many on the streets. It died in 1941 at the beginning of World War II, it was 12 years old. It all started in 1921 when the stock market crashed and many farmers crops failed. During the beginning of the Great Depression's life thirty three percent of the industrial labor force lost their jobs, which caused hundreds on thousands of families to move to the streets. By 1933 it had caused 14,000 of the nations 25,000 banks to close down. In the second quarter of 1933 it looked as if the Great Depression might die, but the recovering economy stalled for two more years. Once again in 1937 it looked like it might die, but it crashed again until the beginning of World War II. The need for weapons and vehicles for the war created many jobs causing the Great Depression to eventually die. The Great Depression was a horrible time in America and will not be missed. It had no surviving family and died all alone. The funeral services will be held on December 2, 1941at the Economy Funeral Home.
