6th On these cold, winter evenings most 6th graders look forward to getting home as fast as possible to stay inside, play video games, or watch TV...but not this week's 6th grade student of the week. There is a 6th grader who walks these very halls, who can often be found running the streets of Valpo whether rain, snow, or shine. This fascinating student of the week has such great determination both in and out of the classroom, that even the treacherous Polar Vortex shivers when crossing his path. When his name is brought up in front of the 6th grade teachers or coaches only great things are said. He is a fine, young gentleman who is going to do great things for us here at Benjamin Franklin both athletically and academically. This week's 6th grade Student of the Week is none other than Isaac A. Congrats Isaac! Keep up the great work. 7th This week's seventh grade student of the week is an excellent student who is clever, creative, and hard-working. In addition, this student actively participates in class, often making the discussion more entertaining by enthusiastically answering and by reading aloud in a variety of voices. Always pleasant and polite, this student consistently shows respect and kindness to teachers and peers. A valued member of the yearbook staff, this student helped other students fill out their order envelopes correctly by providing examples and patient explanations. Congratulations and thanks to Jake S. for all you do! 8th The 8th Grade Team is pleased to recognize Alex A. as the Student of the Week. Alex's hardworking nature and kindness are qualities that make her stand out on the volleyball court and in the classroom. She takes her responsibilities as a student and a teammate seriously. Alex is always willing to help her peers with assignments and readily asks for help when she does not understand something. Fortunately for all of us, Alex's ready smile brightens our lives and the halls of Ben Franklin every day. Congratulations, Alex! AA This young lady is very quiet and works hard. She comes to class prepared and is polite and helpful with her classmates. She is part of the science Olympiad Team, has signed up for Academic Superbowl, and plays trumpet in the band. She enjoys creating art, swimming, and is an avid reader. Every summer she gets to visit one of her favorite theme parks...Disney World. Congratulations to Samatha F. You are the Allied Arts student of the week. Office The office staff has selected Tommy D. as this week’s student of the week. Have you ever noticed that Tommy walks around with a positive attitude and smile on his face? I am sure that is because this is a young man who works hard everyday to put forth his best effort, treats others the way he wants to be treated with respect and dignity, and he has a great personality. Tommy, continue to work hard and good things will come your way! You are a student who represents BF well.
