Reading Mastery/Decoding C

The objective of this course is to improve comprehension skills and other literary skills,
such as increased vocabulary, through reading and other related practices.
The goal of this course is to complete one lesson every two days, according to the
procedures established in the Direct Instruction program.
Students will complete exercises in textbooks, workbooks and skillbooks. (Skillbooks
are used in RM6 only.)
Periods 1 & 6, Decoding C classes, will begin their exercise at lessons 90 and 100
respectively. Period 3, the RM6 class, will begin at lesson 1.
Textbooks (3) – Reading Mastery VI or Decoding C, Rainbow Edition published by
McGraw-Hill
Supplies
Pens, blue or black and red; Pencils, at least two (2); Composition Book; Scissors
Class Rules
1. Students will come to class on time and prepared.
2. Students will remain seated unless otherwise instructed
3. Students will raise their hands and be recognized before commenting.
4. Pay attention!
5. Respect all personal rights and property rights

Violation of classroom rules will result in the following progression of consequences:
1St offense – verbal warning
2Nd offense – call/note to parents
3Rd offense – referral to counselor
4Th offense – referral of student to PPO
5Th offense – parent/teacher conference
Major offenses will follow established school procedure.
For consumption in class, students are allowed to bring only bottled water.
