Project: Effect of Folic acid on productivity and weight of heat shocked Tribolium castaneum and
its offspring

Objective of the research was to research in oxidative stress caused of heat stress and the function
of antioxidant-folic acid on reducing heat stress in model animal Tribolium castaneum

Designed a research plan of 3 groups of different treatments and 1 group of control to investigate
whether folic acid would decrease changes of productivity and weight of model animal and
whether this function would inherit to next generation

Processed the research independently with breeding the model animal, groping its growth cycle,
adding folic acid to its feeding stuff, heat shock it, weighing and observing survival rate


Project: Sequence changes of genome related to virulence of infectious bronchitis virus after
attenuating passage in embryonated eggs

Objective of the research was to investigate the relationship between sequence and virulence of
infectious bronchitis virus

Participated in IBV strains passages in specific pathogen free embryonated eggs, extracted viral
RNA and participated in reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction and direct sequencing

Designed a research plan to investigate pathogenicity of infectious bronchitis virus

Inoculated SPF chickens with infectious bronchitis virus titers, observed their clinical signs,
performed necropsy on all dead chickens and examined gross lesions
