They give voice to our cries of woe and our shouts of joy. In these lectures we will explore that dialogue from both ends, asking all the time what this means theologically and how it has to do with our faith and life as Christians. Patrick Miller Patrick Miller was Professor of Old Testament Theology at Princeton Theological Seminary from 1984 until 2005. He was Editor of Theology Today from 1990 until 2005 and served as Book Editor and Associate Editor of the journal Interpretation. He is Old Testament Editor of the commentary series Interpretation, Co-editor with David Bartlett of the Westminster Bible Companion, and General Editor of the Abingdon Old Testament Commentaries. In 1998, Miller served as President of the Society of Biblical Literature, having previously been the Society's Secretary-Treasurer. Among his publications are Sin and Judgment in the Prophets, Interpreting the Psalms, They Cried to the Lord: The Form and Theology of Biblical Prayer, Deuteronomy, The Religion of Ancient Israel, and The Way of the Lord: Essays in Old Testament Theology.
