This package contains __ vials of laboratory stocks of Drosophila melanogaster, a
species of fly commonly used for academic research. Each vial contains
approximately 50-100 individuals at various stages of the Drosophila life cycle.
Drosophila’s characteristics are well-studied and it is known to be harmless to plants,
animals and humans. It is non-toxic and non-pathogenic. The enclosed samples have
no commercial value. Please keep at room temperature. Please see below regarding
regulations concerning posting of Drosophila – Article 15, section 4.2.3.
A copy of import permit number IP15004263 is included with this package.
These stocks are for ENTER NAME AND LAB HERE but will be processed through
quarantine first by OzDros, the Australian Drosophila Importation Facility. Please
contact OzDros (sci-flyinfo2@monash.edu or +613 9905 5026) should you have any
questions about the importation of these stocks.

The Universal Postal Convention Letter Post Regulations now reads:
Article 15. Items not admitted. Prohibitions
4.1. Live animals shall be prohibited in all categories of items.
4.2. Exceptionally, the following shall be admitted in letter-post items other
than insured items:
4.2.1. bees, leeches and silk-worms;
4.2.2. parasites and destroyers of noxious insects intended for the
control of those insects and exchanged between officially recognized
institutions;
4.2.3. flies of the family Drosophilidae for biomedical research
exchanged between officially recognized institutions.
