Erin Margaret Hayes-Pontius was awarded a travel grant from ASLO and the Lake
Champlain Research Consortium to attend the American Society of Limnology and
Oceanograph’s Aquatic Sciences Meeting which was held in San Juan, Puerto Rico from
February 13th-18th.
In addition, Erin was second author on a presentation entitled “Facilitation of benthic
macroinvertebrate identification using site-specific web sites: an aid to citizen science.”
Mathew Wadja was awarded a Ronald Suiter Travel Award to attend the 52nd Annual
Drosophila Research Conference, March 30-April 3, 2011, San Diego, CA. Mathew and
graduate student Samya Chakravorty presented a poster entitled “Functional role of flight
muscle in male courtship song of Drosophila melanogaster”
