ROLE PROFILE :

Reports to: Private Care line/Assistive

Technology Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE: To be responsible for the administration of both the Private Care Line and Assistive Technology Service in Staffordshire Moorlands including the connection of dispersed alarm/assistive technology peripherals whilst signposting/referring customers with additional needs to other agencies as required.

COMPETENCIES

1.

Ensure that all correspondence for the service including the acknowledgement, receipt and processing of new referrals for the careline/assistive technology service (via e-mail, letter or telephone) are dealt and responded too within agreed timeframes

2.

To maintain and update computer-based records and ensure the security of data held by having regard for the duty of care of information (with particular reference to the Data Protection Act and Freedom of

Information Act)

3.

Set-up and maintain new and existing customers details on the PNC call handling software and scan new and existing customer information updates within the documotive system.

4.

To connect dispersed alarm units and Telecare sensors

(e.g. smoke, gas and carbon monoxide detectors etc), instructing clients in the correct use of the system and devices, and obtaining and liaising with emergency contacts as appropriate and identify customers with additional support needs and signpost/refer customers to appropriate services

5.

Responding to call lists for repairs, annual visits, new customers, provided by the Coordinator and planning

Technology Coordinator time accordingly to visit customers within agreed

Service Level Agreements.

6.

To assist with the control and audit of stock, ensuring collected equipment is clean and ready for reissue and ensure all records relating to the service are updated and accurate

7.

To work a set of customer accounts, conducting periodic visits, as well as reviewing care call provider reports detailing high usage and non-users ensuring follow up work to reassess ongoing need and signpost/refer to agencies as required

8.

Assist in promotion and development of the service by providing a professional and compassionate service in respect of the Private Care Line and Assistive

Technology Service as well as supporting presentations with demonstrations as required

9.

Update computer-based and Paper based records adhering to our duty of care of information (with particular reference to the Data Protection Act and

Freedom of Information Act). Progressing documentation to relevant 3 rd party provider and obtaining and setting up of account information from service users

10.

To effectively monitor the cash collection for customers Raising and checking invoices/credit notes as per Careline procedures and following up nonpayment as directed by the co-ordinator and follow arrears recovery procedures

Knowledge and or/or qualifications

Understanding of issues facing older people.

Knowledge of Assistive Technology Products and Services

Experience of providing services for older people

Knowledge of Safeguarding

Experience of using Microsoft Office products e.g. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.

Personal Skills and Abilities

Ability to work alone and prioritise workload accordingly

Effective communication skills to be able to work with members of the public, particularly older people in an empathetic manner, and to be able to communicate information in a clear and understandable manner

The post holder will need to demonstrate the ability to work in a specialist, high performing team, achieving performance targets, whilst delivering and outstanding services and fostering excellent customer relationships. The post holder will contribute to the effective day to day delivery of services to Your Housing Group Older

Peoples Services.

Working Relationships:

This role involves working effectively with other Your Housing Group Teams as well as external agencies both Statutory and Third Sector and representing clients, and Your Housing Group, in various formal non-formal arenas.

Additional Information

The posts attracts an ECU car payment of £1500 per annum and HMRC fuel rates.
