Subject, Verb, Object: Notes

Every sentence must have a subject.

A subject is a noun or a group of words that together act like a noun.

is the doer or the actor.

1. I
2. He
3. She
4. We
5. They
6. It
7. A person’s name (Juan)
8. The name of a group of people (builders)

The object is somebody or something involved with the action but not
directly doing the action.


Sometimes, the object comes __________________ the subject. But
even when this happens, the subject is still performing the action.
EXAMPLES:


On account of them, we can’t play football anymore since they took our
football.
