Leadership Skills
Communicating and dealing with people well is essential to running a productive and
profitable business. These interactive and practical workshops have been designed
especially for the Farmer Owner/Manager/Supervisor to provide practical tips and
tools which will help you become a better leader and more effective in the work place.
Apart from the full day succession planning event, each day has been designed so
that people can choose to attend either in the morning, afternoon or both.

Communicating Effectively
The way we behave and communicate with others is influenced by skill, attitude and
habit, this workshop looks at these and provides the participant with ideas for change
and improvement. It is ideal for managers and supervisors who would benefit from using
alternative techniques to get more done with less conflict, frustration and stress.

Decision Making
Making decisions can be time consuming, this practical workshop discusses techniques
needed to analyse problems, generate ideas to resolve them and help to decide which
would then be most effective.

Time Management
This workshop will allow participants to take greater control of their, and the team’s, time
use. Participants’ will have the opportunity to discuss the challenges of managing time,
share ideas, and also to practice the key skills involved with identifying time saving
practices.

Negotiation Skills
Negotiation is not just about buying and selling. Anyone in your organisation who
created agreements is a negotiator. This programme will help participants to prepare
and conclude negotiations leading to better deals for the organisation and strong longterm relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

Succession Planning
Planning for the younger generation to return to the farm or for the older generation to
retire can be a complex issue on many farms. This workshop has been designed to get
participants thinking about money, time, housing, communication, responsibility and
farm involvement. Wills, Enduring Power of Attorney and Divorce issues will also be
discussed.
Maximum Capacity: 8 businesses – it is highly recommended that at least two
generations are represented at these workshops.
