2014-15 Legacy Scholarship Fund Criteria and Application Form
Description
The Binghamton University Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship benefits one undergraduate student
who has chosen to follow in the footsteps of an immediate family member by attending Binghamton
University.
Scholarship Award
The selected candidate will receive a scholarship for $1,000 for the Fall 2014-2015 academic year.
Criteria for Eligibility:
 Legacy status as determined by the Binghamton University Alumni Association (immediate family
member: mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, step-parents or legal guardian)
 Good academic standing, minimum GPA of 2.5 or above
 Preference given to a student with demonstrated financial need as determined by Financial Aid &
Student Records
Application Requirements:
 One completed Scholarship Application Form
 Two letters of recommendation from Binghamton University faculty and/or staff
 One copy of resume
 A personal essay to address question posed in Scholarship Application Form
 Top five applicants will be asked to attend an interview with Alumni Relations staff and Alumni
Association board members
Deadline
A complete application must be submitted to the Alumni Relations office (Couper Administration
Building, Room 217) no later than Friday, March 14, 2014. The Binghamton University Alumni
Association will neither receive nor consider applications submitted after deadline. Scholarship recipient
will be announced on Monday, March 31, 2014.

Association Board members. I give my permission to make available my application and supporting documents to be
distributed for the purpose of selecting a recipient.
