Japan Aftershocks #51

advertisement
We ran out of earthquakes for you. But the good news is that there is something
else that needs to be done for this project.
Instead of plotting earthquakes, you will be helping to construct a map of Japan
to be shown along with the earthquakes. It's the same amount of work as
everyone else.
Here's what you need to do:
First of all, the map of Japan will show up on the ground surface of our threedimensional map, therefore the depth of each line in your list will be zero.
I will give you a latitude number and a range of longitude numbers. Here's a
short fictitious example:
26.2 latitude with 75.3 - 76.7 longitude
With this information, you would create a list that looks like this
(latitude, longitude, depth):
26.2, 75.3, 0
26.2, 75.4, 0
26.2, 75.5, 0
26.2, 75.6, 0
26.2, 75.7, 0
26.2, 75.8, 0
26.2, 75.9, 0
26.2, 76.0, 0
26.2, 76.1, 0
26.2, 76.2, 0
26.2, 76.3, 0
26.2, 76.4, 0
26.2, 76.5, 0
26.2, 76.6, 0
26.2, 76.7, 0
Then I would give you another set and you would add it to your list above (no
blank lines in between). Just make it one long list.
Once you have completed the list (about 150 points on the map), submit it to me
just as described in the instructions.
Let me know if you have questions.
Here is your list:
34.6 latitude with 133.4 – 133.9 longitude
34.6 latitude with 135.3 – 136.5 longitude
34.4 latitude with 130.8 – 133.0 longitude
34.4 latitude with 135.0 – 136.8 longitude
34.4 latitude with 133.8 – 134.3 longitude
34.2 latitude with 130.8 – 132.2 longitude
34.2 latitude with 133.5 – 134.6 longitude
34.2 latitude with 135.0 – 136.2 longitude
34.0 latitude with 130.7 – 130.9 longitude
34.0 latitude with 131.3 longitude (just one point)
34.0 latitude with 132.7 – 133.1 longitude
