Go to the class weebly page and view the video on eclipses. 2. Glue in the Eclipse Diagram. 3. Label the Earth, Moon, and Sun in each of the diagrams then color as explained below: Earth = Green Moon = Brown Sun = Yellow/Orange 4. Label to the left of the correct diagram that represents a solar and lunar eclipse. (see text pages for help) 5. Label the Umbra and Penumbras in each diagram. (see text pages for help) 6. If you finish this station early, glue in a Casting Shadows worksheet into your comp book and complete it. Earth – Moon – Sun: STATION 3 - TIDES Supplies Needed: Types of Tides Sheet Pen/Pencil Blue and Black colored pencil/marker Text p.194-197 Procedure: 1. Glue in the Types of Tides Sheet. 2. Label the moon phase that is pictured in each of the 4 diagrams. Shade in the “dark side” of the moon for the bottom 2 pictures using your black colored pencil/marker. 3. Color in the tides around Earth in each of the 4 diagrams using your blue colored pencil/marker. 4. Circle either Spring or Neap Tide correctly labeling each of the 4 diagrams. 5. Follow the example for the tides foldable. Glue it into your comp book and fill in the information. You will become the Earth, the light source will be the big sun in the back of the classroom and the “pop” will be the moon. 2. Model the phases of the moon using your “moon pop” and draw where the moon, earth and sun are in relation to each other for each phase on your foldables. 3. When finished with the Moon Pop foldables, glue the Moon Talk worksheet into your comp book and complete.
